Nelle pareti rocciose, sul lato sud dell'isola, si trova il paese di Zaraće, lontano 6 km dalla città di Hvar. Ai piedi di questo piccolo paese pittoresco, vi sono due baie profondi, una rivolta verso est, chiamata Velo Zaraće, e l'altra verso ovest, nominata Malo Zaraće. Le spiaggie di ghiaia sono protette da scogli alti ed impressionanti, sono delle vere bellezze naturali. Qui si trovano i diversi ristoranti, che offrono anche una sistemazione comoda in case sulla costa, ed oltre per i nuotatori, Zaraće, con i suoi paesaggi subacquei, è una meta molto interessante per tutti gli amanti del sottomarino.
A Zaraće si puo giungere con l'auto o con la barca dal porto di Hvar.
